Planning and Scheduling Manager

About The Role

Construction Planning and Programming Manager to join our team in Canberra and support the delivery of a major, long-term project.

Working closely with our Construction Director and Construction Managers, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of overall project planning and programming, including projects status updates, program reporting, implementation of production controls and critical path analysis, cash flow analysis, labour forecasting, and reviewing proposed construction sequencing and methodologies. Preferably, the candidate must be highly experienced in the use of Primavera P6.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

- Creating, and maintaining project plans, reports, charts, schedules, databases and records to provide up to date and accurate information for decision making.
- Providing in the analysis (e.g. risk, spreadsheet, resources, curves) and monitoring of project programs. This includes the generation of histograms, planned and actual tracking of progress.
- Maintaining and updating the Project Master Schedule and other site schedules using your experience to identify opportunities at all levels.
- Regular reporting on program to key stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Perform planning activities which may include undertaking research and document preparation to provide support within established planning guidelines.
- Integration of multiple programmes from the wider team to ensure the overall program remains accurately tracked,



and ensure options for mitigations are worked through for key decisions to be made.
- Present program status to the project’s leadership team as well as to the wider business during reporting periods.
- The assessment of time related impacts, both downstream and upstream, understanding the risks associated and being able to provide options for mitigations, to be decided by the leadership team.

About Us

- 15+ years’ experience in the construction industry, with experience on building/construction projects (commercial, residential, healthcare, Government).
- Experience in project planning, scheduling, project controls and program benchmarking.
- Advanced Primavera P6 skills.
- Be able to graphically represent program methodology, and present and communicate the program to internal and external stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- High level of interpersonal, communication and people skills.
- High attention to detail, excellent organisational and time management skills with problem solving ability.
- Understand construction sequencing and methodologies. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to work efficiently through clear directions from the leadership team on the project.
