The Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA) is a specialist project delivery organisation, responsible for delivering Victoria's major transport, health and community safety infrastructure program.

This multi-disciplinary program includes more than 200 projects including the North East Link, removing level crossings, Melbourne Airport Rail Stage 1, new and upgraded hospitals specialist programs such as the early parenting centres expansion and upgrade program and community safety projects including Corrections and Emergency Services.

The unprecedented program of works brings together expert skillsets to deliver crucial health, community safety, and major transport projects, and ensures that operations are streamlined and efficient while delivering better outcomes for Victorians. Led by the Director-General, VIDA is comprised of the five project offices, VIDA Road, VIDA Rail, VIDA Health, VIDA Metro and VIDA Community Safety. VIDA is established as an Administration Office under the Public Administration Act 2004 as a specialist organisation.

About VIDA Health

VIDA Health (Victorian Health Building Authority) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We are delivering world‑class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VIDA Health also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines.

The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to step into a newly established SES leadership role and help shape the future delivery of Victoria's health infrastructure program.

As the Project Director, you will lead the planning,



procurement and delivery of major, multimillion‑dollar health infrastructure projects that directly improve healthcare outcomes for communities across Victoria. Operating in a highly complex environment, you will provide strategic leadership across large-scale projects, manage significant budgets and stakeholder relationships, and drive successful delivery outcomes from concept through to completion.

This role offers the prospect to influence major government investment decisions, work alongside senior executives and industry leaders, and contribute to some of Victoria's most significant health infrastructure projects.

Key aspects of the role

- Leading the delivery of complex, high‑value health infrastructure projects with significant strategic importance to the Victorian Government.
- Providing expert advice, sound professional judgement and technical leadership to identify, manage and resolve complex project risks and issues.
- Building trusted relationships with senior government representatives, health services, industry partners, consultants and contractors to drive successful project outcomes.
- Driving robust financial and commercial oversight across major projects, ensuring budgets, expenditure, forecasts and commitments remain aligned to project objectives.
- Preparing and presenting high‑quality reports, ministerial briefings, cabinet submissions and executive advice on complex infrastructure matters.




- Contributing to the ongoing evolution of a growing project portfolio and helping establish best‑practice project delivery approaches across VIDA Health.

We are looking for

- A proven project delivery leader with extensive experience managing large and complex capital infrastructure projects within multidisciplinary environments.
- A strategic thinker who can confidently navigate complex stakeholder environments and provide authoritative advice to senior executives and government decision‑makers.
- A collaborative and influential leader with the ability to inspire teams, build strong partnerships and achieve outcomes through others.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience overseeing large project budgets, financial management and procurement activities.
- Exceptional judgement and decision‑making capability, with a track record of successfully managing project risks and resolving complex issues.
