The Position

Knox Grammar School seeks to appoint a strategic and relational leader as Chief Engagement and Communications Officer (CECO). A key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CECO is responsible for shaping and delivering a cohesive approach to communications, marketing, enrolments, alumni and community engagement. The primary focus of the position is to strengthen the School’s reputation, deepen connection and support long-term enrolment growth.

Reporting to the Headmaster, the CECO provides enterprise-wide leadership across visual identity, storytelling and stakeholder engagement, ensuring consistent and authentic messaging across all channels. The position leads a multidisciplinary portfolio spanning communications and marketing, enrolments, community engagement and alumni, with a explicit mandate to unify these functions into a coherent, strategically aligned whole. This includes embedding consistent frameworks, strengthening data-informed decision making, enhancing the enrolment lifecycle experience and supporting growth across domestic, boarding and international markets within a highly relational and globally oriented environment.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished executive with deep expertise across marketing, communications and enrolment strategy in complex,



purpose-led organisations. The appointee will bring a strong commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to translate insight into effective strategy and disciplined execution. A highly credible and empathetic leader, the appointee will demonstrate exceptional stakeholder engagement capability, cultural fluency and the capacity to build trust across a diverse community. Team-oriented, consultative and outcomes-focused, they will lead and develop high-performing teams, foster alignment and accountability, and contribute meaningfully to the School’s strategic direction, reputation and growth.
