Assistant Manager (Couple Position) - Progressive Family Cattle Operation | Qld

- Leading, progressive beef operation across two properties totalling 80,000 acres
- Strategic 2IC role driving sustainable cattle management and infrastructure.
- Competitive remuneration, quality accommodation, and long-term career potential.

We are seeking a highly capable and switched‑on Assistant Manager to step into a pivotal 2IC role for a dynamic, first‑generation beef‑breeding enterprise that strives for excellence in Central Western Queensland.

Established from the ground up in 2016, our clients are defined by a strong work ethic, a deep‑seated commitment to sustainable land management, and a passion for high quality operations. As a business that values growth they are now looking to partner with a professional who shares their drive, integrity, and ambitious vision for a future within the Australian beef industry.

Spanning over 80,000 acres of pulled Gidgee buffel grass country and Mitchell Grass downs across both the Norwood and Tarves properties, the business maintains a consistent supply chain, running a core of approximately 3,000 breeders with a total of 6,500 head on hand. The operational philosophy is underpinned by high standards, quiet stockmanship skills, and an intensive weaner training program designed to ensure maximum productivity and calm temperaments, all while supporting a monthly turn‑off to feedlot custom feeding. Major infrastructure upgrades, including new fencing, waters and yards, are currently being completed to ensure the operation can achieve its goal of efficient, sustainable beef production for the long term.

You will be instrumental in executing daily operations as a trusted right‑hand to the owners. To achieve business goals, the owners need to spend more time working on the business rather than in the business. After a period of training in operations, it is expected that you will take the lead on critical tasks such as mustering, yard operations, and maintaining water infrastructure,

and effectively lead a small team in doing so.

This opportunity would ideally suit a couple. We have a station hand position available for your partner to join the operation and support the team, making this an excellent opportunity for a pair looking to work and grow together in a professional, supportive environment.

The Offer

This role offers an attractive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of this pivotal leadership position.
