Senior Pharmacist (Grade 3) – Formulary – Permanent Part‑Time (0.8 FTE)

This position is 64 hours per fortnight within the Pharmacy Department and focuses on supporting safe, effective and timely use of medications at RCH. You will work with the Chief Pharmacy Information Officer, Medicines Information and the Drug Usage Committee (DUC) to manage the formulary and inventory, monitor medication utilisation, and identify opportunities for quality improvement.

What You’ll Achieve

- Serve as the key point of contact for formulary management at RCH.
- Attend DUC meetings, produce minutes, and communicate outcomes to clinicians.
- Evaluate, review and manage the medication formulary based on clinical evidence, safety, efficacy and cost‑effectiveness.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to healthcare professionals on formulary‑related decisions and medication use.
- Lead paediatric pharmacy engagement with Safer Care Victoria and other statewide stakeholders, advocating for paediatric considerations in the Victorian Statewide Formulary and contributing to solutions for medicine access,



shortages and supply continuity.

Annual salary will range from $108,820.40 to $123,905.60 pro‑rata plus superannuation.

Your Skills and Experience

- Registered pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and name listed on the Pharmacy Board of Australia register.
- At least eight years of hospital pharmacy experience.
- Extensive experience developing medication guidelines.
- Post‑graduate Master’s in Clinical Pharmacy.
- Significant clinical pharmacy experience, including paediatrics.

About the Department

The Pharmacy Department comprises approximately 70 staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and administrators. The team works across Outpatients, Children’s Cancer Centre, Clinical Pharmacy, Clinical Trials, Medicines Information, iT.H. & Sterile Services, and the Pharmacy Business Unit.
