BlueCare | Maintenance and Grounds Officer | Aged Care Facility in Thursday Island

Overview

Operating at a state‑wide level, the Facilities & Maintenance team supports the delivery of UnitingCare Queensland services through proactively managing and maintaining extensive property portfolios across SEQ, R&R; and ARRCS.

In the Maintenance and Grounds Officer role you will work autonomously at a designated BlueCare local site whilst being supported by regional and state teams.

Responsibilities

A typical day will involve balancing general gardening duties and lawn care, maintaining plant and equipment, undertaking minor property work and contributing to a safe and pleasing environment for residents, staff and visitors.

Qualifications

- Current Australian driver’s license
- NDIS Workers Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain
- Proficiency in IT systems
- Experience in maintenance building, plant, equipment, gardening or landscaping or ability to acquire these skills
- Demonstrated communication and stakeholder engagement skills




- Commitment to be a proactive member of a regional team
- Relevant trade qualifications or certificate in facilities, building or construction desirable
- Ability to manage work schedules and meet deadlines
- Confidence to satisfy relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies
