The Opportunity & How You Will Make An Impact

We’re on the lookout for a dynamic Senior Consultant to join our Perth office! Leveraging your technical expertise and proven skills, you’ll support our clients by offering sound statutory and strategic urban planning advice and insights. As a senior planner, you will lead and contribute to the delivery of high-impact land use planning and policy projects, both for public sector and private clients. As a Senior Consultant, every day is different! You’ll make an impact by:

- Leading and contributing to the preparation of strategic land use planning projects, including growth strategies, precinct structure plans, employment and housing studies and supporting technical inputs.
- Providing high-quality planning analysis and advice informed by current government policies, regional and local priorities and stakeholder needs.
- Collaborating with internal and external multidisciplinary teams, including specialists in the fields of economics, urban design, transport, infrastructure advisory, community planning and stakeholder engagement.
- Preparing and reviewing reports, delivering presentations and public-facing documents that communicate complex planning concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard of quality.
- Coaching and developing individuals within the team.

- Holds tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Town Planning or a related discipline.
- Ideally minimum 3 years' experience within an Urban Planning consulting-firm based environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with track record preparing complex planning reports and delivering presentations.
- Strong knowledge of strategic and statutory planning, and related legislation, ideally gained in a consultancy or local/State government environment.
- Proficient appreciation and understanding of strategic policies, processes and influences.
- Proficient appreciation and understanding of impacts and issues affecting land use and development.
- A collaborative mindset, to bring out the best in yourself and others while bringing new thinking to Urbis and our clients.
- Passion for purpose-led work, and driving a positive legacy for our communities, clients and yourself.
