About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Patient Access Team Leader to join our committed and supportive team at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne. The Patient Access Team Leader will lead and manage the Patient Access team and the department’s administrative and operational performance within the RDHM portfolio. This is a full‑time, ongoing opportunity.

Salary: $83,944.93 per annum plus 12% super. Access to salary packaging advantages, 5 weeks annual leave and an accrued day off per month.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Support

- Lead and manage the patient administration team, including recruitment, rostering, leave management, onboarding, coaching, training, and performance management and development.
- Manage incidents, patient complaints and/or unacceptable patient behaviours and escalates when required.

Patient Experience

- Oversee, monitor, and improve administration function performance to enhance patient experience.
- Oversee waitlist, recall and appointment book management to ensure effective management of patient experience and support optimal chair utilisation.
- Lead, initiate and contribute to continuous improvement activities that enable quality and service improvements.
- Coordinate patient movements as directed by Head of Unit and clinical stakeholders.

Operational and Financial Performance





- Manage team budgets such as salaries and consumables in line with requirements.
- Manage financial reconciliation, refunds and coding adjustments for the Child Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS) and ensure all revenue activities are in line with OHV guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Review and evaluate audit reports and department KPIs including financial, clinical productivity, waitlist and other relevant reporting to assess achievement of patient outcomes and student learning outcomes.

Stakeholder Management

- Act as a key point of contact for clinicians and other stakeholders, regularly liaising with the clinical leadership team to support improved patient experience.

About You

- 5 years’ experience of leading a team in a clinical operational setting.
- Experience with Titanium is desirable.
- Experience managing customer complaints and resolution.
- Satisfactory Victorian Working with Children’s Check.
- Satisfactory Police Check result.
- Vaccination requirements as specified by Department of Health guidelines, including COVID‑19 & flu vaccinations.
