Overview
We are recruiting for a Substation Engineer for our client who is a leading company in hardware kitting and logistics focussed on Power Transmission & Distribution.
Job Responsibilities
- Review Substation designs with a focus on busbar systems and high-voltage equipment (132kV+).
- Undertake engineering calculations to ensure designs meet relevant standards and client requirements.
- Oversee quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with technical, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Manage and support production activities, ensuring smooth project delivery.
- Act as the technical point of contact, providing engineering expertise across projects.
- Work collaboratively with the business team while maintaining independence in a standalone engineering function.
Experience
- Proven experience in primary substation engineering with a strong focus on HV systems (ideally 132kV and above).
- In-depth knowledge of busbar design, layouts, and calculations.
- Strong understanding of substation standards, practices, and compliance requirements in Australia.
- Background in quality assurance and production/project oversight within a technical environment.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a close-knit team culture.
- Regional or remote project experience will be highly regarded.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (required).
