Teacher - Humanities and Social Sciences

We are seeking to establish a pool of Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) teachers for permanent and fixed‑term, full‑time and part‑time vacancies that may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments can be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The School

Joseph Banks Secondary College (SC) is an independent public school serving students from Years 7 to 12, located approximately 27 kilometres from Perth CBD. The school focuses on quality teaching and diverse opportunities for individual achievement, providing a 21st Century curriculum and supporting students through to secondary graduation with pathways to employment and further education.

The Role

We are seeking cutting-edge and dedicated educators who thrive in a collaborative team workplace. Candidates will design and deliver engaging HASS learning experiences, fostering students’ skills and knowledge and exploring contemporary, industry‑linked opportunities.

- Develop and deliver high‑quality teaching and learning programs aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum.
- Engage and challenge students across Years 7 to 12, addressing varying ability levels.
- Utilise problem‑based and design‑based learning approaches.




- Demonstrate strong knowledge and skills in delivering Senior Secondary courses (highly desirable).
- Show excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external networks.
- Commit to ongoing professional learning and development.

Qualifications & Requirements

To work with us you must:

- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of appointment.
- Hold an appropriate teaching qualification and hold membership with AITSL.
- Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before commencing placement.
