Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia) is one of Australia’s largest autism-specific service providers, with one of the biggest autism-specific school programs in the world. A not-for-profit organisation, we work in partnership with people of all ages on the autism spectrum, and their families to deliver evidence-informed solutions that are person-centred, family-focused and customer driven. We are looking for teachers to join Aspect Western Sydney School and our satellite classes in the region. This is a casual teaching opportunity for Primary and High School levels.

What You Will Do

Aspect is a leader in education for children on the autism spectrum. You will be supported by a team of passionate skilled educators and work to tailor learning environments to individual student needs using evidence-informed practices in autism. Class sizes are small and you will have the assistance of a dedicated teacher aide. You will collaborate with the student, family, teacher aide and other professionals such as our school psychologist, speech therapists and occupational therapists to develop and deliver quality learning programs. This wrap-around, multi-disciplinary approach helps you gain new skills and advance professionally.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

- NESA registration to teach in NSW (Primary and High School)
- Special Education qualifications are preferred
- Experience working with students on the autism spectrum or with other intellectual disabilities is desirable




- NSW Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment
- Current driver’s licence may be essential depending on location/requirements
- International police clearance may be required
