Austek Roads (NSW) is seeking a full-time Asphalt Plant Operator to join our team in Tomago, NSW. The role is an integral part of our construction operations and offers excellent training and development opportunities.
Reporting to our Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for performing all required works safely and efficiently to achieve the best outcome.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide effective day to day operation of Asphalt plant
Ensure work is conducted within industry/legislative standards such as NHVR / COR and the Austek IMS
Pre-Start Checks
Promote and perform the reporting of near misses, hazards and incidents
- Toolbox meetings, inspections and the identification, assessment and control of risks
Ensuring regional conformance to client and specification requirements for the production of asphalt
Liaise with the plant maintenance team to ensure preventative maintenance occurs in a timely manner and causing minimal disruption to internal and external clients
ABOUT YOU
Construction Card and a Valid driver’s licence (MR truck licence will be an advantage)
Forklift, confined space and working at heights tickets (preferred)
FEL Operation
Certificate 4 or higher in Manufacturing of Mineral Products or Similar discipline (desirable)
Confined Space entry (desirable)
Experience in asphalt manufacturing or similar environment (desirable)
You will have the ability to communicate and operate in a collaborative working environment.

Physically fit and hard working
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
