Key accountabilities
- Effectively lead and manage the Engineering Services team to ensure the efficient delivery of the team’s outputs and services.
- Develop, implement, and monitor annual budgets and operational plans for the Engineering Services team.
- Review, prepare, and implement engineering procedures, standards, and specifications to ensure that the Engineering Services team outputs are safe, fit‑for‑purpose, and compliant.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to provide professional engineering advice to staff, other departments, management, Councillors, State Government representatives, and the community.
Position requirements
The successful applicant will hold a degree in Civil Engineering with relevant experience in a similar role, bringing broad experience across community infrastructure planning, design, transport, drainage, and asset management, and proven ability to develop and deliver capital works programs and budgets. The applicant must have a sound understanding of relevant standards, strong technical expertise, and the ability to apply excellent communication, problem‑solving,
and leadership skills to deliver quality engineering outcomes for the community.
Completion of a pre‑employment medical, including alcohol and other substances testing, is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and advantages
This role is offered as a five (5) year fixed term contract. A salary package of up to $169,236.48 per annum will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
