Harry the Hirer Productions is one of the country's biggest names in event production, and ILUMINA — our flagship Sydney CBD venue — is one of the most exciting addresses in our national network. Across the year we bring lighting, video, rigging and audio to a wildly varied slate of conferences, presentations, product launches, dinners and special events, for clients who expect the very best and come back because they get it.

The pace is quick, the ideas come thick and rapid, and the people are among the sharpest in the business. This role sits at the heart of ILUMINA's client-facing team — we're after a passionate industry person who can grow the venue's reputation, add value to every event, and be part of the reason clients choose ILUMINA over anyone else.

The role

This isn't a portfolio you split across venues — it's one address, and it's yours to run. You'll be based full-time at ILUMINA, on the floor as often as you're at your desk, working the calendar from first enquiry through to last bump-out. On any given week,



you might be:

Managing ILUMINA's event calendar so the venue's capacity is never left on the table — juggling enquiries, tentative holds and confirmed bookings.

Walking prospective clients through the space, listening to what they're trying to pull off, and turning that into a workable technical and commercial plan on the spot.

Pricing and negotiating packages that work for the client's budget and the venue's bottom line, without cutting corners on delivery.

Coordinating with ILUMINA's building management, catering partners and security so nothing falls through the cracks on event day.

Being the first call when something shifts on the day — a late addition, a room swap, an unexpected technical ask — and sorting it before the client notices.

Reporting on how the venue's performing and what's coming up, so the wider Harry the Hirer Productions team always knows the state of play at ILUMINA.

Getting ILUMINA in front of new business through venue-finder platforms, industry events and word of mouth, so the calendar stays full.

Is this you?

You don't need a fancy title to prove you know production — you need runs on the board and the ability to bring people along with you. You'll bring:

Solid, hands-on experience across audio, video, lighting or rigging — earned on the tools,



not just picked up from a distance.

A track record of managing your own client base and closing deals, whether that's in events, hospitality, venue management or somewhere related.

Comfort being the public face of a venue — equally at ease with clients, building managers and internal stakeholders.

A head for numbers: you can build a quote that wins the job and still stacks up commercially.

Sharp instincts under pressure, with the calm to make a good call when a live event throws you a curveball.

Strong written and verbal communication, from the first cold enquiry through to a signed contract.

A full driver's licence, and Vectorworks experience is a bonus — we'll teach you the rest.
