We are a newly established empty container depot located in Banksmeadow, Sydney, specialising in empty container storage, handling, and related logistics services. As a new depot currently building our operations and team, we are committed to creating a skilled, efficient, and positive working environment. With the depot preparing to commence operations, we are looking for motivated and responsible individuals to join us and grow together with the company.
About the Role
This role is ideal for someone with strong coordination and administrative skills who thrives in a fast-paced empty container depot environment.
You will play a key role in managing container movements, inventory control, and coordinating with transport operators, shipping lines, and terminals to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate container movements between depot, transport operators, and terminals
- Monitor and manage container inventory levels to meet export booking requirements
- Process dehires and export pickup bookings via systems such as 1-Stop/ContainerChain
- Validate export booking details and ensure EDI accuracy from shipping lines
- Communicate with shipping lines regarding stock shortages and operational updates
- Monitor slot bookings and pending transactions
- Maintain accurate data entry for all container movements and system updates
- Compile container control and operational reports
- Handle customer enquiries via phone and email in a timely manner
- Support M&R; administration, including system updates and customer changes
- Liaise with terminal operators to ensure smooth operational workflow
- Assist front counter operations when required
- Maintain communication across stakeholders to support efficient depot operations
About You
- Experience in container depot, logistics, or transport operations
- Strong administrative and data entry skills with high attention to detail
- Good understanding of container control, inventory, and booking processes
- Experience with systems such as One-Stop/ContainerChain
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and proactive attitude
Desirable (Highly Regarded)
- Experience in the empty container survey
- Knowledge of shipping container grades and industry practices
