Sunshine ENT is a Spring Hill based ENT practice seeking a Casual Medical Administration Officer to join our small, supportive, and quick‑paced team. This role suits someone with prior medical administration experience who enjoys patient contact, values accuracy, and thrives in a dynamic specialist environment.
Role Overview
You will be the welcoming face of the practice and an essential part of ensuring smooth clinic flow. The role combines patient‑facing care, administrative precision, and hands‑on support for clinical operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Greeting patients and managing check‑in/check‑out with warmth and professionalism
- Scheduling appointments, recalls, and coordinating clinic flow
- Managing phone and email enquiries with clarity and empathy
- Processing referrals, results, and specialist correspondence
- Billing, invoicing, and Medicare/DVA/Health Fund claims
- Supporting theatre bookings and liaising with hospitals
- Sterilising instruments and maintaining infection‑control standards
- Assisting the specialist and practice manager with day‑to‑day administrative tasks
What You Bring
We're looking for someone who brings both experience and a genuine commitment to patient care.
You will be a strong fit if you have:
- Previous experience in medical administration, ideally in a specialist setting
- A minimum of 1-2 years of medical administration experience
- Experience with Gentu (highly regarded)
- A warm, reassuring patient manner and excellent communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence multitasking in a busy environment
- A proactive, team‑focused approach and willingness to learn
- Professional presentation and respect for confidentiality
- Experience with sterilisation processes or willingness to be trained
- Australian work authorisation required at time of application
