Senior Pharmacist — Compounding Team Lead

PBS Retail Pharmacy with Sterile & Non-Sterile Compounding Lab | Sydney, NSW | Full Time

$130,000 base + performance bonus up to 20% | 5-day week | Part of a senior leadership team

WHO WE ARE

We are a busy, high-performing PBS community pharmacy in Sydney with a purpose-built sterile and non-sterile compounding laboratory operating alongside our retail dispensary. We have invested in the right infrastructure, the right compliance framework, and the right team — and we are now looking for an exceptional pharmacist to join our senior leadership team and help us raise the bar even further.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will be part of our leadership team — overseeing the compounding operation, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to how we grow — but you will also be right there in the lab, compounding alongside the team and leading by example every single day.

We are looking for someone who thrives on doing, not just directing. Someone effective, solutions-focused, and ready to roll their sleeves up. If you have the technical skill, the clinical knowledge, and the energy to back it up, this is a role that will genuinely reward you for it.

Day to day you will be:

• Compounding sterile and non-sterile preparations hands-on — you set the standard by doing the work yourself

• Overseeing the compounding lab, ensuring TGA compliance, and maintaining quality systems including batch records, SOPs, and environmental monitoring

• Leading, mentoring, and upskilling the compounding team, with a practical, get-it-done approach

• Dispensing and counselling patients as a senior pharmacist in our PBS retail environment

• Consulting with prescribers on compounding needs, clinical protocols,



and therapeutic decisions

• Contributing to the continuous improvement of our compounding capability and clinical service offering

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You are technically excellent, fast on your feet, and wired to get things done. You do not wait to be told — you see what needs doing and you do it. You are as comfortable with a laminar flow hood as you are behind the dispensary counter, and your team will follow your lead because you are right there working alongside them.

• AHPRA-registered pharmacist in good standing

• Minimum 3–5 years' compounding experience — sterile and non-sterile both required

• Experience in PBS dispensary practice and patient-facing pharmacy

• A natural leader who leads by doing — efficient, positive, and solutions-focused

• Solid knowledge of TGA compounding obligations and Pharmacy Board of Australia guidelines

• A confident communicator with prescribers and patients alike
