Two fixed term teaching opportunities @ beautiful MLC Marshmead in the Croajingolong National Park, both commencing Term 1, 2027

- 1 x 2-3 year (negotiable) contract
- 1 x Term 1 only contract

The role:

MLC is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic secondary teachers with professional experience and/or a strong personal interest in outdoor experiential living and education, to join our Education Outdoors team at MLC Marshmead, our unique residential Year 9 campus located near Mallacoota in far eastern Victoria.

This role provides an opportunity to teach and contribute to an experiential curriculum focused on environmental sustainability, personal sustainability and sustainable communities. Staff at Marshmead live and work on site, supporting students as they participate in an eight-week residential program designed to build independence, resilience, connection and practical learning.

Some of your primary duties and responsibilities will include the following:

- Plan and deliver highly engaging lessons in collaboration with the Marshmead teaching team.
- Support the wellbeing of students in allocated houses, including monitoring and maintaining internal wellbeing records.
- Develop strong relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
- Provide feedback to students and parents through the Continuous Reporting system.
- Use data to review student progress and inform teaching and learning strategies.
- Contribute to departmental meetings, reviews and program initiatives.




- Actively participate in the outdoor and physical components of the Marshmead program.
- Attend and support community events, including assemblies, reflections, communal meals, parent visiting weekends and significant evenings.
- Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the needs of staff, students and families within the Marshmead community.
- Engage in qualified learning and contribute to professional networks within the school and broader education community.
- Complete and maintain required core safety training, including 4WD Vehicle Course, Power Boat Handling Course, Basic Fire Training and Food Handling.

- Appropriate teaching qualifications and demonstrated expertise in relevant subject areas.
- Current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration.
- Demonstrated commitment to student learning and wellbeing.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Effective planning and organisational skills.
- Proven competence with the use of technology in a learning environment.
- Acts professionally and maintains appropriate confidentiality.
- Collaborative team member with the ability to contribute positively within a residential community.
- Ability to live in a small community and contribute to the wellbeing of other residents.
- Commitment to the principles of conservation and sustainability.
- Right to work in Australia.
- An understanding of the Victorian Child Safe Standards.
- Adherence to all College policies and demonstration of behaviours in accordance with the Victorian Child Safe Standards.
