Position Title: Mechanical Engineering Technician

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Reporting to This Position: None

Primary Objectives:

- Support and Execute maintenance processes:
- Contribute to day to day smooth running of maintenance operations.
- Demonstrate superior skills in machine maintenance and repair.
- Maintain safe and effective workplace.
- Identify and improve/rectify inadequate/defective maintenance processes.
- Ensure cost efficient, quality outcomes of maintenance activities.
- Maintain Dobbie plant and equipment in line with regular maintenance scheduling.
- Positively contribute to the cost efficient, quality output of the Maintenance Dept.
- Demonstrate strong work ethic, reliability and high competence.
- Maintain Quality Assurance Parameters:
- Ensure policies, procedures, work instructions and Quality System requirements are understood and adhered to.
- Action CIF’s (Continuous Improvement Forms) as warranted.
- Encourage a culture of Continuous Improvement in all activities.
- Maintain OH&SE; Objectives
- Understand and adhere to objectives, procedures, work instructions of the Dobbie Occupational Health & Safety Policy and Environmental Management policy. requirements.
- Encourage a culture of Lifelong Learning and Continuous Improvement of Dobbie’s OH&SE; objectives amongst Maintenance staff.
- Contribute to continued success of company:

- Maintain control of all Dobbie plant & equipment
- Ensure all plant and equipment is in positive working order.
- Act, as directed, to resolve stakeholder concerns.

Freedom to Act:

- Responsibility to report to Maintenance Manager upon discovery of unsafe plant or equipment.

Positions Dimensions:

- Member of Maintenance Team
- 38 hours of labour per week at prescribed times.
- Overtime when required/available.

Knowledge/Experience Requirements:

- Formal Engineering qualification: Mechanical or Civil
- Demonstrable relevant experience -
- Maintenance practices.
- Minimum three year prior direct engineering working experience
- Conversant with requirements of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001: 2018
- Aptitude to understand Dobbie Quality System.
- Good communication, people and leadership skills.
- Good time management and planning skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent team skills.

- Maintenance Manager
- General Manager; Managing Director & Financial Controller.
- All other Line Managers.
- HSEQ Manager; Purchasing Officer.
- All other staff

Key Challenges:

- Maintaining Dobbie Plant & Equipment in good operating order
- Streamlining and increasing efficiency of Maintenance processes.
- Timely performance of all duties.

OTHER TASKS:

Other duties as directed.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
