Role Overview

Chef - U 5/10, Victoria Street, Bunbury 6230. Little Spencer Bakehouse

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our busy kitchen team. In this full-time role, you will play a central role in preparing and executing high-quality menu items, developing seasonal breakfast and lunch specials, maintaining culinary consistency, and managing kitchen operations to ensure the highest standards of food preparation, hygiene, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

● Design, plan, and prepare high-quality breakfast, lunch, and bakehouse dishes in line with Little Spencer's culinary style and quality standards.

● Cook, season, and portion menu items, ensuring precision in flavor, quality, consistency, and artistic presentation.

● Estimate food consumption, manage stock control, rotate ingredients (FIFO), and place orders with local suppliers to minimize wastage.

● Enforce strict health, sanitation, and safety guidelines across all kitchen workstations, equipment,



and food storage areas (HACCP standards).

● Direct and train junior kitchen staff, commis chefs, and kitchen hands in correct preparation, cooking techniques, and safety procedures.

● Prepare specialized food items accommodating food allergies and dietary preferences (e.g., gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan options).

● Inspect and maintain commercial kitchen tools and cooking machinery to ensure safe and effective operation.

● Examine incoming stock, raw ingredients, and produce for freshness and high quality prior to usage.

● Oversee prep lists and station setup for breakfast and peak trade service to maintain swift order turnarounds.

● Monitor food costs, portion sizes, and waste minimization strategies while maintaining dish integrity.

Pay: $80,000.00 per year
