Senior Business Development Manager required

MBIP is an independent, Queensland owned and operated patent and trade mark attorney firm. The firm has expanded over recent years, and we are looking to increase our reach and client base, especially in international markets.

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Development skilled with a solid background in the intellectual property (IP) industry.

You will work with the Head of Marketing and Business Development with a focus on strategic relationship building, facilitating long-term international business relationships and networks.

MBIP is in a growth period and as we look to expand our service offerings, we are expanding our team to promote the firm’s brand and acquire more leads in key geographic locations abroad.

Required

- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role (i.e. business development & client relations) in the Intellectual Property profession
- High level communication skills, verbal and written
- Commitment to meeting KPIs relating to increasing the firm’s reach, internationally
- Knowledge of key international IP conferences and events
- You must have vast experience in attending networking events and meeting with IP professionals in other countries (outside of Australia)

Key Duties and Responsibilities





Working with the marketing and business development manager, your goals will include:

- Implementing growth strategies to expand overseas client base
- Implementing strategies to develop and maintain brand visibility in key jurisdictions
- Identifying ideal prospects, clients and referrers
- Researching and creating overseas networking opportunities for Attorneys
- Assisting with trip planning – geography, conferences and targets
- Assisting Attorneys with drafting and sending proposals
- Facilitating virtual meetings, where needed
- Monitoring competitors and keeping abreast of their marketing & BD activities in key jurisdictions
- Reporting, follow ups and feedback after conferences/business trips
