PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Contributes to operational effectiveness by coordinating and overseeing the repairs, maintenance and operation of Power and Water’s assets associated with
water and wastewater systems across major and minor centres and remote communities assigned to the Southern region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The “WHAT” to be delivered
Function
• Help ensure water and wastewater systems are operated and maintained safely, reliably, and in line with service standards, quality requirements, and
licence obligations.
- Take part in a 24/7 on‑call roster and respond promptly to faults and service interruptions.
- Provide operational support to other regions across the Northern Territory as needed and regularly travel to and undertake inspections of remote
community assets and provide mentoring to Utilities Support Contract Workers.
- Assist with planning and carrying out preventative maintenance, planned works, and minor capital projects.
- Complete unplanned and scheduled works safely, efficiently, and as assigned in the Works Program.
- Coordinate internal staff and external contractors to deliver operational and maintenance tasks on time and to required standards.
- Provide accurate and complete information for closing out work orders, including asset details, using approved systems.
• Prepare and monitor scopes, budgets, cash flows and resource requirements as necessary to successfully deliver allocated projects.

- Manage safety and environmental hazards, incidents, and actions on time through the safety system. Support timely and accurate investigations as part
of the investigation team.
- Seek to reduce the environmental impact of the organisation through compliance with legislative, regulatory and licence requirements.
- Contribute to timely investigations as part of an ICAM team.

• Maintain and promote a high standard of customer service including timely and sensitive responses to customer complaints, enquiries and cross-cultural
issues.
Quality
• Support a continuous improvement culture, developing and reviewing processes and procedures to ensure they are current and relevant to legislative,
regulatory and other work requirements.
- Effectively undertake investigations, develop concept and detailed designs, specifications and justifications for capital and operational Business Cases
in accordance with the strategic needs of Water Services.
