Located within Chadstone Shopping Centre, Marae Izakaya is a premium culinary destination celebrated for its elevated Sushi Train and refined Yakiniku dining. We are now looking for a skilled Hot Food Chef to join our kitchen team.

The Role

As our Hot Food Chef, you will be responsible for managing the hot food section, ensuring every dish that leaves the kitchen meets our high standards of quality, taste, and presentation. You will bring your expertise in Japanese cooking techniques to elevate our menu and delight our guests.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage and run the daily operations of the hot food section.Train, mentor, and guide kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and execution. Prepare, cook, and present high-quality hot dishes, specializing in Japanese cuisine (e.g., ramen, tempura, yakitori, donburi, and hot appetizers). Maintain strict portion control, food quality, and presentation standards.

Monitor food stock levels, order supplies, and minimize wastage.




Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and OHS regulations.
Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu development and specials.

About the Benefits
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $95,000 per annum + Superannuation
Expected Hours/Week: 40 hours per week
Flexible roster, including evenings (Mon-Sun).

What We Are Looking For:

Experience:
・Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a fast-paced hot food section.
・Specialization: Minimum of 2 years of experience specifically focused on Japanese cuisine.
Attributes:
・A positive attitude, a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a true passion for Japanese culinary arts.

Visa:
・Permanent Resident visa, Partner visa, Citizen and NZ Citizen Only.
