About the role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for the insulation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of industrial refrigeration and air-conditioning systems including Ammonia Refrigeration equipment, while supporting the plants preventative maintenance program.

Key responsibilities:

- Install, maintain and repair industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems and associated equipment

- Read and interpret engineering drawing, specifications and technical manuals

- Install compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, valves, switches, gages and refrigeration pipe work.

- Drill, cut, bend, thread, braze and connect refrigeration piping and associated equipment

- Conduct pressure testing, leak detection, evacuation and refrigerant charging of refrigeration systems

- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, and repair or replace defective components

- Test and commission refrigeration equipment and adjust system controls for optimum performance

- Monitor and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems to ensure protected and efficient plant operations.

- Carry out preventative and break down maintenance across refrigeration and plant equipment





- Complete maintenance reports and record faults, repair and corrective action

- Work closely with the maintenance manager and production personnel to minimize equipment downtime.

- Ensure all work complies with workplace health and safety requirements and relevant Australian standards

Essential requirements:

- AQF Certificate 111 (or equivalent)

- In air-conditioning and refrigeration, or at least 3 years of relevant industry experience

- Current refrigerant handling license (Or eligibility to obtain one in Australia)

- Demonstrate experience maintaining industrial or commercial refrigeration systems

- Experience with Ammonia refrigeration systems will be highly regarded

- Strong fault- finding and diagnostic skills

- Ability to interrupt technical drawings and service manuals

- Ability to work independently and within a maintenance team

- Good communication and organizational skills

- Willingness to participate in after hours or emergency breakdown call outs when required

Pay: $78,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
