ABOUT THE ROLE

Trusting Hands Disability Services (THDS) is seeking compassionate, dedicated, and experienced support workers to join our team.

As a Support Worker, you are directly responsible for the day to day support, personal care, domestic assistance and personal development of our participants. You will also provide a range of community living, social and recreational support services to assist people with a disability or mental illness to be actively involved in their local community, be valued and respected and engaged in meaningful opportunities. You will need a car to travel to participants residence and facilitate transportation to attend medical appointments, shoppings, and other community activities.

This is a mobile role – a reliable vehicle and mobile phone are required.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential Qualifications & Documents:

- Certificate III (or higher) in Disability, Aged Care, Community Services, or Mental Health
- Minimum 12 months’ experience in a similar role
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Valid Australian driver’s licence is a must
- Own registered and insured vehicle
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- NDIS Worker Screening Check




- Working with Vulnerable People card
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Check (employment purposes)
- COVID-19 Vaccination (including booster if eligible) or valid medical exemption

Desirable:

- Manual handling training
- Experience with autism and/or behaviours of concern
- Intermediate computer skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Availability to work across rotating rosters (including evenings, weekends, and public holidays)

Additional Information

Schedule:

- Morning / Afternoon / Evening shifts
- Rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
- Flexible hours available
