Early Learning Victoria (ELV), as part of the Department of Education, is leading the roll-out of 50 government-owned and operated early learning centres by 2032, with 18 currently operating. Our centres provide play-based environments connected to local communities and offer long day care, three and four-year-old kindergarten and where applicable, `more hours of 4-Year-Old Kinder¿ (previously known as pre-prep). About the Role
Opening in 2027 and co-located with Cohuna Consolidated School, Early Learning Victoria Cohuna is a 102-place centre offering long day care and three and Three-Year-Old Kindergarten and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten programs.
In this role, which can be performed full or part time, you will:
- Lead the centre to provide high quality early learning childhood education and care by ensuring staff within the centre work in accordance with National Law and Regulations, including the National Quality Standards, approved learning frameworks, the Child Safe Standards and in line with Early Learning Victoria's philosophy and practice guide
- Be responsible for ensuring the centre delivers on key organisational and local pedagogical priorities, developing robust educational practices across all programs and partnerships onsite
- Contributes to the service integration portfolio at the centre and work strategically with community partners and the co-located school (where applicable) to ensure effective, meaningful uptake and utilisation of additional services to support continuity of learning for children
- Support in and out of ratio at designated times, contributing to the daily program and positively role modelling high-quality practice.

About You
- Demonstrated experience as an Educational Leader, delivering high-quality, play-based educational programs
- Practical knowledge of National Quality Framework, National Law and Regulations, Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and Child Safe Standards
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills with staff, children, families and communities
- Experience working with children and families experiencing vulnerability
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 2 years¿ pedagogical leadership experience
- ACECQA approved diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care; early childhood teaching degree will be highly regarded
- Valid Working with Children Check, First Aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma qualifications and completion of Mandatory Reporting & National Child Safety Training
- Agreement to a police check; an international police check must be provided for candidates who have resided outside of Australia for 12+ months in the last 10 years
