About the role
An Asbestos Technician is responsible for the identification, removal, and disposal of asbestos-containing materials in buildings and structures.

They conduct inspections, collect samples for laboratory analysis, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines to prevent asbestos exposure.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Conduct asbestos surveys and assessments in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Collect and analyse samples to identify the presence of asbestos.
- Safely remove and dispose of asbestos-containing materials following established protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment for asbestos removal and disposal.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation of all asbestos-related activities.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).




- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors regarding project status and findings.
- Participate in training sessions and stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.

Essential Skills

- Uncompromising commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Precision in constructing enclosures, decontaminating areas, and completing compliance paperwork.
- Ability to perform manual labour and wear restrictive PPE and RPE for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work cohesively under the direction of the Site Supervisor and alongside other technicians.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for reporting hazards and completing site documentation.

Qualifications needed:

- Minimum Trade certificate or equivalent relevant work experience
- Minimum one year of work experience on relevant position
