Liberty oil are seeking a well organised transport professional with a passion for making it work.
This is a varied role covering all aspects of fuel operations, supported by a team of experienced drivers, schedulers and administrators
Overseaing all transport and Depot operations across NSW with related activities including:
- Managing the safety and welfare of company drivers in alignment with company HSSE and operational expectations.
- Managing transport operations in a safe, reliable and efficient manner which are aligned with the business overall objectives.
- Ensure NSW depots are operated and maintained in strict compliance with Company policies, procedures and all legislative requirements.
- Supporting the growth of the NSW business through the provision of high levels of customer service and ensuring the timely delivery of products aligned with customer needs
Responsibilities Include:
- Ensure the safety of all staff through the strict compliance with Company policies, procedures and all legislative requirements.
- Maintain the safe and reliable operation all company fleet assets aligned with company and legislative requirements.
- Ensure all drivers are fit for duty including medicals and accreditations and have completed all company training in the required timeframes.
- Be the lead role model and promote work, health and safety behaviors and compliance with Liberty’s policies and procedures.
- Promote incident and hazard reporting
- Ensure regular/monthly toolbox meetings are held with employees.
- Conduct and participate in assigned incident investigations and ensure allocated actions are completed within the required timeframe
- Ensure compliance activities are undertaken and monitor quality through random inspections.
Provide leadership to a team of drivers, including the provision of support, supervision, training, coaching and development
- Undertake workforce planning activities, including overseeing daily operations and workloads, rostering, scheduling, management of payroll and leave planning.
- Participate in the recruitment, selection and termination processes for operational employees.
- Oversee daily fleet planning to ensure timely completion of customer orders.
- Oversee inbound product supply planning to ensure wet depots are adequately stocked.
- Completion of regular Depot assurance activities as well as supporting planned depot works.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone with a thirst for learning and an ability to grow into the role.
- Three to five years’ experience in an operational management or similar role.
- Have a strong understanding of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulations, inclusive of fatigue, mass and load management, dangerous goods transport and handling legislation.
- Thrive off being a people leader and enjoy managing people.
- Strong decision-making skills and problem solving
- Experienced in conflict and dispute resolution and negotiation skills.
- A true team player
- Solid communication and persuasive skills
- Ability to work calmly when under pressure and dealing with difficult situations
- Excellent planning and organising skills
