Yulong Stud is seeking a passionate and experienced horse person to join our team as a full-time Stud Hand at our Yulong Park property, located in Bayles, Victoria, just a short distance from the scenic Mornington Peninsula.
Reporting to the Property Manager, your duties would include but not be limited to:
- Daily stud tasks such as feeding, checking horses, paddock and stable maintenance, and horse movements
- Administering treatments including drenching and assisting with vaccination protocols
- Bandaging horses as required, under the direction or supervision of the veterinarian and Property Manager
- Assisting with the care and handling of horses during visits from veterinarians, farriers, dentists, etc
- Supporting general farm maintenance when needed
- Completing other ad-hoc tasks as required
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in the Thoroughbred industry (preferred)
- A current full driver’s license
- Robust communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team
- A hardworking, reliable, and friendly personality, with a passion for horse care
