About the Role:

As the Physiotherapist – Healthy Ageing, you’ll provide evidence-based physiotherapy services to older Aboriginal Australians, supporting them to maintain mobility, independence and participation within their families and communities.

Working within a multidisciplinary primary health care team, you’ll manage a diverse caseload, develop person-centred treatment plans and collaborate with Aboriginal Health Practitioners, Allied Health Assistants, General Practitioners, Nurses and other allied health professionals to deliver holistic care.

The role is primarily based in Alice Springs (Mparntwe),



with occasional travel to surrounding remote communities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver high-quality physiotherapy services to older Aboriginal clients

- Support clients to maximise independence, mobility and quality of life

- Develop individualised assessment, treatment and rehabilitation plans

- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary primary health care team

- Advocate for the health and wellbeing needs of Aboriginal people

- Promote healthy ageing through education and preventative care

- Supervise and mentor Allied Health Assistants, students and junior clinicians

- Build strong partnerships with community organisations and health providers

- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support quality improvement initiatives

- Work within the Aged Care Quality Standards and Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)

About You:

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (or equivalent)

- Current AHPRA registration as a Physiotherapist

- Experience working within community-based physiotherapy or primary health care services

- Strong clinical assessment and rehabilitation skills

- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

- Understanding of culturally safe practice and person-centred care

- Knowledge of Aboriginal health and the social determinants of health

- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

- Willingness to travel to remote communities as required

- Current Driver Licence

- Experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation or delivering services under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) will be highly regarded.

Essential Requirements





- Successful applicants will be required to obtain or hold:

- Current AHPRA registration

- Current Driver Licence

- NT Working with Children (Ochre Card)

- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance

- National Criminal History Check

- Eligibility to deliver Aged Care services under the Aged Care Act

- Ability to complete a pre-employment medical and drug screening if required
