Based in Wangara, Onsite Engineering PTY LTD (OSE Riggers) is a privately-owned commercial construction company providing specialized labour, engineered rigging, and structural steel erection services across the Perth Metro area. We have delivered accurate structural solutions on iconic local projects, including the Perth underground rail project, Optus Stadium, Multiple recent Metronet projects & Tier 1 construction projects around Perth. We tackle complex site problems using advanced technical knowledge and high-end equipment.

Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hands-on Engineering Survey Technician to manage data flow between our office drafting teams and active commercial job sites. Working under the guidance of our project management and engineering teams, you will take ownership of specialized layout tasks, structural steel data verification, and digital clash detection.

This role bridges workshop data management with active site assignments all over Perth. It is perfectly suited for someone who wants to master advanced layout tech and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty. Role would suit someone who has an interest in developing some project management abilities alongside survey/ setting out duties.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities

- Precision Field Setout: Perform structural set outs and component mark-outs utilizing a high-precision Robotic Total Station.
- Tekla Model Design Liaison: Coordinate closely with project draftsmen to analyse, review, and navigate structural steel fabrication files within Tekla software.
- As-Built Engineering Surveys: Execute comprehensive as-built surveys of newly erected structural steel frames to confirm compliance with engineered tolerances.




- Concrete Scanning & Data Processing: Conduct subsurface concrete scanning and process the captured spatial data to seamlessly import scans into our master 3D project models.
- Clash Detection & Early Assessment: Review site conditions against engineering models to run early clash detection, proactively identifying steel or concrete/site issues before fabrication or erection begins.
- Safety & QA Documentation: Assist with the development, review, and submission of safety compliance and quality assurance documentation.
- Project management: Working closely with our offsite detailer: measure, detail & effectively execute small structural steel design & construct projects

Key Skills & Experience

- Qualifications: Currently studying toward, or recently completed, a Certificate IV or Diploma of Surveying.
- Software Skills: Exposure to AutoCAD or Tekla modelling environments is highly advantageous.
- Licensing & Safety: Must possess a valid manual Australian driver’s license and a valid Construction Induction White Card prior to starting site work. EWP or Scissor lift tickets advantageous
- Attributes: Strong mathematical aptitude, spatial problem-solving skills, and a clear communication style when interfacing with clients (builders), site riggers and draftsman teams. Previous experience in construction or knowledge of structural steel fabrication is advantageous but not essential

What We Offer

- Competitive base salary ($60,000 – $95,000) depending on qualifications, Experience & ability

Pay: $60,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
