The position

As the Coordinator – ACT Conference Support and Helpline, you'll play a key role in strengthening the support we provide to Conferences and communities across the ACT.

Combining strategic leadership with a hands-on approach, you'll build strong relationships with members and volunteers, provide guidance and operational support, and help Conferences continue their vital work.

You'll also lead the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Relief Helpline, ensuring high-quality service delivery for people seeking support.

Working across a diverse network of stakeholders and community partners, you'll lead a dedicated team, coordinate training, strengthen safeguarding and compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

You'll also support effective reporting and operational processes while identifying opportunities to enhance our services and ensure people experiencing hardship receive timely and compassionate assistance.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based at our Yarralumla office, working Monday to Friday.

About you

You are a people-focused leader who enjoys building strong relationships, bringing others together and helping teams deliver meaningful outcomes for the community.





With experience in community services, social services or a related field, you have the ability to lead with empathy, provide practical guidance and create an environment where people feel valued and engaged.

You bring strong communication skills, sound judgement and a collaborative approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities, solve problems and adapt to changing needs.

You understand the challenges faced by people experiencing vulnerability and are committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality services while working in line with organisational values, compliance requirements and community expectations.

To be successful in this role, you must hold a current driver’s licence and will be required to complete a National Police Check and hold, or obtain, a Working with Vulnerable People Card (WWVP) and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
