The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of the largest providers of homelessness services across the country.

Our philosophy is that every person should be afforded dignity and respect and that no one should be without a secure, affordable, and secure home.

We provide services and supports to adults, and families with accompanying children in the form of accommodation, case management, assertive outreach, financial assistance, community connection and referral services.

About the role

As an Intake Worker, you will be the first point of contact for individuals accessing homelessness services through Flagstaff Accommodation and The Open Door.

You will coordinate client intake, manage service fee administration, and provide high-quality administrative support to ensure clients receive timely access to appropriate services.

Working as part of the Community of Support team, you will contribute to delivering a welcoming, responsive, and person-centred service for people experiencing homelessness.

Reporting to the Manager-Flagstaff, this is a fixed-term part-time position, contracted until October 2026; 19 hours per week, based on-site in Flagstaff, VIC.

Conditions
Compensation is in accordance with the SCHADS Award - Level 5.

How you will make an impact

- Deliver a welcoming and professional intake experience for individuals accessing homelessness services
- Conduct client assessments, manage intake processes,



and maintain accurate records and reporting
- Support clients through information, referrals, and connections to housing and community services
- Manage service fee administration and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the program
- Work collaboratively with the team to deliver high-quality, person-centred services and continuous improvement initiatives

What you will bring

- Appropriate diploma qualification relevant to the delivery of community services e.g. Social Work, Psychology or equivalent
- Experience working in the Homelessness sector
- A current VIC Driver's Licence
- A current Employee Working with Children Check
- A current First Aid Certificate
