What your day could look like
As an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner, you'll play an important role in improving health and wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families and communities. Every day, you'll contribute by:
Providing primary health care and coordinated support that helps people achieve better health outcomes.

You bring integrity to every interaction, have the courage to advocate for better outcomes and are open to innovative approaches that improve health and wellbeing. You'll feel proud knowing your work helps people access quality care, stay connected to services and achieve healthier futures.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

Certificate IV in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice.
Demonstrated experience providing culturally responsive primary health care services.
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Confidence working within clinical guidelines, maintaining accurate records and supporting coordinated care.
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience working across rural or remote communities and/or experience supporting health promotion and community engagement programs.
