KinWay Edu (秦维教育) is a China-based education business connecting Australian tutors with primary school students in China for live English speaking practice. We're currently expanding our tutor team and looking for friendly, energetic people who enjoy working with children.

This is fully work from home — you can be based anywhere in Australia.

About the role

You'll run 60-minute live speaking sessions with primary-aged students (roughly 6–12) via video call. The focus is conversation, pronunciation and building the child's confidence — not formal academic teaching.

We provide the full lesson framework, materials and activities for every session, so prep time is minimal. You bring the energy and the conversation.

- 1-hour sessions, booked in advance
- You choose which sessions you take — there are no minimum hours and no obligation to accept work
- Demand is highest on weekday evenings and weekends (to align with China time zones), so availability in those windows means more sessions available to you
- Paid fortnightly in AUD to your Australian bank account

Pay: $25–$35 per hour, based on experience

- $25/hr — Clear, natural pronunciation and a genuine enjoyment of working with children. Entry level teaching experience required.
- $30/hr — TESOL/TEFL certified, or 1+ year of experience teaching or tutoring children.
- $35/hr — TESOL/TEFL certified plus 2+ years with young learners, or a qualified primary/ESL teacher.

There is scope to move up a tier once you've built a track record with us.

Requirements





- Currently residing in Australia with full working rights
- Native or near-native English pronunciation (Australian, British, American or equivalent)
- A genuine enjoyment of working with young children — patient, upbeat and encouraging
- An ABN, or willingness to register one (free, takes about 10 minutes online)
- An Australian bank account for payment
- A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card in QLD), or willingness to apply for one
- Reliable internet, a quiet space, a webcam and a headset

Who tends to do well in this role

Education, arts or languages students; primary and relief teachers; retired teachers; and parents looking for flexible work they can do from home. Previous online tutoring experience is welcome but not necessary.

Engagement type

This is an independent contractor arrangement. You'll invoice us using your ABN and are responsible for your own tax and superannuation. This is not an employment relationship, and you're free to work with other clients.
