About the Role
We are an established wine distribution business looking for a reliable and hands-on Warehouse Assistant to join our small warehouse team.
This is a permanent part-time position working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
You will work alongside and support our full-time Warehouse Operator across the day-to-day warehouse operation.
The role is practical and hands-on. You will assist with preparing orders, labelling wine bottles, loading and unloading vehicles, stock counts, stock and vintage rotation and keeping the warehouse clean and organised.
Tuesday is an important preparation day, with regional and interstate orders prepared for collection and dispatch. Wednesday and Thursday are focused on customer orders, driver loading and general warehouse operations.
You will also learn the broader warehouse operation so you can provide backup when our Warehouse Operator is on annual leave or absent.
What You'll Be Doing
- Picking and preparing customer orders accurately
- Preparing regional and interstate orders for dispatch
- Labelling and re-labelling wine bottles and cartons
- Loading and unloading trucks and delivery vehicles
- Assisting with driver loading
- Receiving and putting away incoming stock
- Assisting with stock counts and stocktakes
- Maintaining correct stock and wine vintage rotation
- Moving and organising stock within the warehouse
- Keeping shelves,
pallet areas and warehouse floors clean and organised
- Safely operating a forklift and other warehouse equipment
- Supporting the Warehouse Operator with daily warehouse requirements
- Learning the broader warehouse operation to provide backup when required
About You
You will suit this role if you:
- Hold a current forklift licence – essential
- Are reliable and punctual
- Have previous warehouse or storeperson experience
- Enjoy practical, hands-on work
- Have valuable attention to detail
- Can work independently once familiar with the role
- Take pride in keeping a warehouse clean and organised
- Understand the importance of stock rotation and inventory accuracy
- Are physically capable of hands-on warehouse work
- Are willing to learn wine product and vintage rotation
- Are flexible and willing to assist wherever required
- Are comfortable working in a small business environment
Working Arrangements
This is a permanent part-time role working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
The role is approximately 3 days per week, with additional hours potentially available when providing leave or absence cover for the full-time Warehouse Operator.
A current forklift licence is essential.
