Full-time Medical Receptionist · Windsor & Fortitude Valley
At Stonewall Medical Centre, we provide full-service general practice with a focus on sexual health, gender-diverse healthcare, and care anyone who has not always felt safe in a healthcare setting. We believe that patients should be hears, seen and believed.
We are growing. Our Windsor practice is close to capacity, and our second site in Fortitude Valley opens in September 2026. We are building the team now so that when we open, the culture, systems and consistency are already in place.
We are looking for an experienced Medical Receptionist to join us full time, supporting our growing team across both sites. We are looking for the right fit, not the first fit.
About the Role
This is a front-desk role, but it carries real responsibility. You will work closely with the Practice Manager, doctors, nursing staff and reception team across a busy and rewarding general practice environment.
You will support front-desk workflow, patient bookings, enquiries, billing and patient flow, help maintain consistency across both sites, and assist the Practice Manager with operational tasks.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Managing appointment schedules and patient bookings
- Welcoming patients and maintaining a calm, professional front-desk environment
- Handling phone and written enquiries efficiently and with care
- Processing Medicare, WorkCover and DVA billing
- Supporting patient flow and helping the clinical team run smoothly
- Assisting the Practice Manager with operational and administrative tasks
- Helping maintain consistent reception processes across both Stonewall sites
Why Work With Us?
Purposeful work. As the first person many of our patients encounter, you play an important role in how safe, welcome and respected they feel. For many patients, that moment matters more than you might expect,
and you will feel that in this role.
Above-award remuneration. We pay above the award rate, with wages based on your experience, responsibilities and the value you bring to the team.
Flexible full-time hours. We will work with the successful candidate to agree on hours that suit both you and the practice.
Supportive work environment. You will be part of a close-knit environment with experienced clinical staff, hands-on leadership, and genuine support to succeed in your role.
Room to grow. As Stonewall expands across two inner-city sites, so does the scope of this role. We invest in the people who invest in us.
Convenient locations. Both our Windsor and Fortitude Valley sites are easily accessible by public transport.
About You
You are experienced as a medical receptionist and you take pride in the role you play in the patient care experience. You are curious, unafraid to ask questions, and willing to keep learning.

You are organised, reliable, accountable and take initiative. You understand that consistency, discretion, accuracy and calm communication matter in a busy medical practice.
