Hutchies is seeking a motivated and skilled Site Manager to join our Civil team on a full time, permanent basis. While this role sits within our Brisbane based team, most of the project work is currently located in Toowoomba.

This is a site based role, with project locations varying depending on project requirements. While we are looking for a Site Manager, this opportunity would also suit an experienced Supervisor who is ready to take the next step in their career and is appropriately qualified to transition into a Site Manager position.

Responsibilities

As a Site Manager, you will deliver the project on time, under budget, safely, and to a quality standard consistent with the head contract.

Your responsibilities will include:

- On site management of, subcontractors, plant equipment and materials
- Planning and programming of the works including coordination of suppliers, other consultants, subbies, labour, surveyors, testers, etc
- Safety: inductions, site supervision, and compliance in accordance with the safety plan
- Setout and coordination of the surveyor Quality control, testing, position checking etc




- Provision of technical services eg Resolution of design issues
- Anything else that is required to see the project completed on time, and on budget, with happy subbies and clients

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

- Proven experience in a Site Manager or Supervisor role within civil construction projects

- Demonstrated ability to manage site operations, including subcontractors, plant, and materials

- Solid experience in planning and programming works, coordinating multiple stakeholders to deliver project outcomes

- Solid understanding of site safety requirements, including inductions, supervision, and compliance with safety plans

- Experience overseeing quality control processes, including testing, set-out coordination, and inspections

- Ability to interpret drawings and resolve technical/design issues on site

- Strong organisational skills with the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget

- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants, and clients

- Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or working towards)

- Ideally, the Site Manager will also have the capability to operate plant and equipment, including water carts, rollers, excavators, posi-track/bobcats, and graders
