About the Business and the Role

Lore’s Kitchen, located in South Melbourne, is seeking a passionate Head Chef with experience in traditional Colombian cuisine to join our successful restaurant that offers the best of Latin hospitality and gastronomic culture.

We offer a permanent full-time position for someone looking for a long-term opportunity.

The restaurant operates 7 days a week, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

- A calm and pleasant personality.
- Strong attention to detail and plate presentation.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

- Improve the current menu and create daily specials aligned with the restaurant’s style.
- Manage kitchen staff, including training and team development.
- Control budgets and manage food and labour costs.
- Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards.
- Oversee maintenance of kitchen equipment.
- Work with management to increase revenue and improve the business.

Skills and Experience

You must:

- Have experience leading a successful kitchen.
- Have at least 2 years of full-time experience as a Head Chef in a traditional Colombian-style restaurant.
- Hold a culinary diploma or internationally equivalent qualification.
- Be willing to work weekends and evenings.
- Have experience working in Colombia or with Colombian cuisine.
- Able to speak spanish fluently.
