About the Location
Ampol Bungama is a busy highway service station located in Bungama, just 220 km north of Adelaide (about 2.5 hours' drive). Situated near Port Pirie on the main route to the Flinders Ranges, it's a key stop for travellers needing fuel, coffee, and hot meals. The area is famous for its mining history, coastal access, and relaxed regional lifestyle.

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Chef to join our team at Ampol Bungama. Sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and design menus that suit our customers and control food costs.
- Estimate food and labour costs and place orders for food, stock, and supplies.
- Supervise food preparation and presentation to keep a high and consistent standard.
- Work closely with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen and service staff to solve any food or service issues.
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and guide the kitchen team on recipes and procedures.
- Prepare and cook a range of dishes to a high standard.
- Make sure all hygiene, food safety, and workplace health and safety rules are followed.
- Manage correct storage, freezing, and preserving of food items.
- Help train, coach,



and support new and existing kitchen staff.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and ready for service at all times.

What We Are Looking For

- Proven experience as a Chef (restaurant, café, service station, or similar).
- Good knowledge of cooking methods, food safety, and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail with pride in food quality and presentation.
- A positive attitude and a team player who communicates well with others.
- Willingness to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

What We Offer

- Salary between $65,000 and $80,000, based on experience.
