Due to growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a driven & passionate Fitter/Welder to play an integral part in our Perth Bendigo and Newcastle workshops on a full-time permanent basis.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

- Fabricate and weld steel frames, brackets and other metal parts.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and measurements to build and assemble metal components correctly.
- Fit, align and securely install fabricated parts.
- Set up and operate workshop tools and equipment, including welders, grinders, cutting tools and other fabrication machinery.
- Examine and check completed work to ensure it meets quality and safety standards.




- Cut, rout, fold and prepare metal parts.
- Operate the CNC router to produce parts.
- Operate the hydraulic folder to shape and bend metal components.
- Measure, mark out and set up materials on the layout table prior to assembly.
- Diagnose faults on the machines.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- A relevant Certificate III (including at least two years of on-the-job training) or Certificate IV in engineering, metal fabrication or welding; or three years of relevant work experience in lieu of a formal qualification.
- At least two years of full-time relevant work experience (or the part-time equivalent) within the last five years in metal fitting, fabrication or welding.
- Demonstrated proficiency in welding techniques (for example MIG, TIG and arc welding) and metal fabrication.
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, technical specifications and measurements.
- Competence operating workshop machinery, including CNC routers, hydraulic folders, grinders and cutting tools.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measuring, marking out and assembling components.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices in a workshop setting.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Pay: From $79,499.00 per year
