Join a high-performing in-house legal team delivering expert advice across the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development and the Department of Primary Industries. As Principal Lawyer, you will contribute to complex and evolving legal work, advising on statutory powers and public law matters that directly support government priorities.

In this role, you will work independently to provide authoritative legal advice to two agencies, with a particular focus on providing advice about statutory functions and powers and public law issues. You will prepare instructions to Crown Law and external providers on complex matters and respond to urgent and sensitive issues requiring legal advice.

Success in this role is demonstrated through sound judgement, high-quality advice, responsiveness to emerging issues, and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and across agencies. You will be proactive, adaptable and committed to delivering outcomes with professionalism and accountability.
