WOODFIRE PIZZA CHEF – GATHER ROUND (MELBOURNE)

We’re on the lookout for an experienced and passionate Woodfire Pizza Chef to join our team across Gather Round Pizza (night trade) and Gather Round Panini (day trade).

This is a hands-on role for someone who genuinely understands dough, fire, and flow. You’ll be working within an established team, playing a key role in delivering consistent, high-quality pizza and woodfired products across both brands.

Roster: Tuesday to Saturday

Days off: Sunday & Monday

About the Role

You’ll bring our menu to life using slow-fermented dough, premium ingredients, and woodfire ovens. Precision, speed, and pride in your craft are essential.

You will:

- Work confidently on a woodfire oven during service
- Prepare and manage long-fermented dough
- Maintain quality and consistency during high-volume periods
- Support prep systems and kitchen organisation
- Work across both brands — pizza service at night and panini/bread production during the day

What We’re Looking For

- Proven experience with wood-fired ovens




- Strong understanding of dough fermentation and handling
- Respect for traditional Italian techniques
- Excellent hygiene and organisation standards
- Calm, focused energy under pressure
- A team player who cares about culture as much as quality
- Formal cookery qualifications are a bonus, but skill matters more
