Our Preschool Room is a vibrant and engaging learning environment, supporting up to 30 children each day. The Role

We are seeking a Diploma-qualified Preschool Room Leader to lead our Preschool Room, working with a group of up to 30 children. This role is ideal for an experienced educator with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of early childhood pedagogy.

As the Room Leader, you will guide your team in delivering an intentional, evidence-informed program grounded in the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), while ensuring a well-organised, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Preschool Room, ensuring a structured, engaging, and well-managed environment
- Plan, implement, and evaluate a high-quality educational program aligned with the EYLF
- Lead, support, and mentor educators within the room, fostering a collaborative and accountable team culture
- Build secure, respectful, and responsive relationships with children to support their learning and wellbeing
- Develop strong partnerships with families through ongoing communication and collaboration




- Oversee observations, documentation, and assessment of children’s learning to ensure meaningful and consistent practice
- Ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), service policies, and regulatory requirements
- Create and maintain stimulating indoor and outdoor environments that reflect children’s interests and promote development
- Support children’s social and emotional development using relationship-based, inclusive, and trauma-informed practices
- Contribute to continuous improvement processes and uphold high standards of practice

Position Details

- Hours:



Full-time (4 long days or 5 shorter days)
- Shifts: Between 6:00am and 6:00pm
- Room: Preschool Room (up to 30 children)
- Location: Busby, NSW

What We’re Looking For

Essential

- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA-approved equivalent)
- Current Working With Children Check
- Strong understanding of child development, the EYLF, and quality practice
- Proven experience in leading or supporting a team in an early childhood setting
- Ability to manage a larger group setting effectively
- Demonstrated experience supporting children with additional needs, including the application of trauma-informed and inclusive practices
- Commitment to building secure, respectful relationships with children and families
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Reflective, professional, and collaborative approach

Desirable

- Experience in preschool-aged programs (3–5 years)
- Understanding of school readiness and intentional teaching strategies
- Confidence in leading programming, documentation, and critical reflection
