About the role
This is a diverse and rewarding nursing role where no two days are the same. Working alongside General Practitioners, Aboriginal Health Workers, Allied Health professionals and visiting specialists, you'll provide holistic nursing care across a broad range of primary healthcare services.
You'll have the chance to:
- Deliver high quality, person-centred nursing care across all stages of life.
- Support child and family health services, including health promotion, developmental monitoring and early intervention.
- Conduct health assessments, screening and clinical interventions.
- Provide immunisations, wound management, pathology collection and chronic disease support.
- Support women’s health, preventative health programs and health education.
- Coordinate recalls,
follow-up care and referrals to improve health outcomes.
- Participate in outreach activities, home visits and community-based care where required.
- Contribute to clinical quality improvement, infection prevention and accreditation activities.
- Mentor and support colleagues within your scope of practice while contributing to a positive team culture.
About You
You're a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse who enjoys working collaboratively and building strong relationships with clients, families and colleagues.
You'll bring
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification.
- Immunisation certification.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Experience working within a general practice or primary healthcare environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- A genuine commitment to culturally safe, respectful and person-centred healthcare.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.
Highly regarded
- Experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service.
- Experience in Child and Family Health, including child health assessments, developmental screening and family-centred care.
- Venepuncture competency.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Child and Family Health or Mental Health.
- Current Class C Driver Licence.
