Salt Human Services is currently seeking experienced, proactive and child-focused Support Workers to support two children (aged 8 and 12) with ASD/ADHD in their home and the community.

This is a long-term opportunity with consistent ongoing hours for the right people.

Available Shifts

Female Support Worker

- Monday to Friday: 7:30am – 9:30am

Male or Female Support Worker

- Monday to Friday: 2:30pm – 5:30pm

About the Role

We are looking for support workers who are warm, patient, reliable and confident supporting neurodivergent children. Building trust and connection is the highest priority, while supporting routines, emotional regulation, independence, community access and everyday living skills.

The successful applicant will be proactive, able to use initiative, remain calm during challenging situations, and confidently plan engaging activities that suit each child's needs and interests.

Support Duties May Include:

- Before and after school routines
- School pick-ups and community access
- Building rapport through play and shared interests
- Emotional regulation and behaviour support
- Supporting daily living skills and independence
- Planning activities and outings
- Personal care and meal support




- Swimming with the children (if required)
- Maintaining a safe and organised home setting

Essential Requirements:

- Experience supporting children with Autism and/or ADHD
- Current Queensland Blue Card
- Current First Aid & CPR
- ABN
- Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
- Comfortable around dogs
- Willingness to follow strict hygiene and feeding procedures

Highly Regarded:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Experience with PEG feeding or coeliac disease
- Experience supporting PDA, anxiety, ARFID or emotional dysregulation
- Qualifications in Disability, Education, Community Services, Psychology, Allied Health, Nursing or a related field
