About the Role
We're looking for a reliable and motivated Chef's Assistant to join our kitchen team. You'll work closely with our chefs to help prepare fresh meals, keep the kitchen running efficiently, and ensure our high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and organisation are maintained.
What You'll Do
- Assist chefs with food preparation and basic cooking tasks
- Prepare ingredients including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food preparation areas
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as required
- Receive, rotate, and store stock following food safety procedures
- Help with opening and closing kitchen duties
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are consistently met
- Work efficiently during busy service periods and support the team wherever needed
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or café is preferred but not essential
- A genuine passion for food and willingness to learn
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a quick-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well within a team
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Current Food Safety certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required
