Evolve Early Learning Centre is a small family owned and operated 39 place service located in Bligh Park, Hawkesbury.

We are a child safe organisation that prides ourself on offering healthy and nutritious meals to our children on site.

We are currently looking for a part time cook, Monday to Friday 8.30AM-1.30PM.

Working closely with the Centre Director and Educators our Centre Cook contributes to to improve the health and well-being of children 0-6 years of age and ensuring a safe, clean and comfortable environment for children.

In this role you will be able to share your knowledge of and passion for quality food, by being responsible for:

· Providing a range of nutritious meals and snacks for children that reflect the nutritional and cultural needs of the children, within the scope of the National Quality Standards and centre’s Nutrition Policy

· Plan rotational seasonal menus for children that follow nutritional guidelines and accommodate allergies, cultural needs, and dietary restrictions

· Communicate and manage food orders efficiently, to minimise waste, maximise stock control and rotation while being cost effective

· Maintain a clean, organised and inviting kitchen that complies with all food safety regulations





· Keep up to date documentation and records including children’s allergen, cultural or dietary needs, food safety documentation, purchases, quantities, menu planning and recipes.

· Regularly communicate with classroom educators and centre families to ascertain specific dietary requirements for children and ensure that Menu and or nutrition displays up to date, skilled and maintained

· Support special events, cultural celebrations and parents engagement around food.

Required Certifications and Qualifications

· Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or trade certificate equivalent

· Food Handlers Supervisor Certificate or a willingness to complete one prior to commencing in the role

· Current Working with Children’s Check

· Child Safety Training (GEECKO Training)

· Demonstrated experience cooking for a large number of children (or group), particularly with specialist dietary requirements including food allergies

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour
