TMJ Centre Melbourne is a patient-centred dental practice with a strong focus on jaw pain, headaches, facial pain and complex bite-related problems. Our patients often come to us after years of discomfort, and our approach is calm, thoughtful, and genuinely supportive.

We are seeking a Dental Assistant to join our small, professional team in a chairside-focused role. This position would suit someone with at least 1 year of dental assisting experience who enjoys hands-on clinical work and a calmer style of dentistry.

About the role

This is primarily a chairside position.

Your core responsibilities will include:

- Chairside assisting for dental and jaw-related procedures
- Preparation and turnover of clinical rooms
- Sterilisation and infection control in line with practice protocols
- Supporting patient comfort and communication throughout appointments
- Maintaining high clinical and hygiene standards

Occasional reception support only:

- Answering phone calls
- Booking appointments
- Taking payments

About you

You’ll be a excellent fit if you:

- Are a qualified Dental Assistant with 1+ years of experience.




- Feel comfortable and confident chairside
- Are calm, organised, and caring with patients
- Take pride in doing things properly
- Are happy to assist with basic reception cover occasionally as part of a small team
- Looking for a long term role

Hours & employment details

- Permanent role
- Approximately 30 hours per week over 4 days (Monday–Thursday)
- Melbourne CBD location
- Immediate start available (or flexible for the right candidate)

Remuneration

- $30+ per hour + super, commensurate with experience
