THE ROLE

The Senior Project Officer leads an escalations team within the Residential Tenancy Act Compliance Program, providing leadership, operational oversight, and strategic direction for escalated and high-risk cases. The role is responsible for supervising their team, coordinating strategies to achieve compliance outcomes, supporting escalated access attempts, attending site visits or VCAT hearings where required, and ensuring consistent application of statutory processes and departmental policies. The role requires strong leadership, judgement, and operational management skills to drive performance and risk mitigation across the division.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

- Lead and supervise an escalations team, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality management of escalated compliance cases.
- Oversee the processing of complex, high-risk, and sensitive cases, ensuring statutory processes are applied consistently and in accordance with legislation and departmental requirements, requiring in office attendances to properties and VCAT hearings as required.




- Develop and implement strategies to progress escalated access matters, monitor team performance, and ensure operational workflows are compliant.
